Dear Barrie Ringette Members,
I hope you are all enjoying your summer and looking forward to another exciting ringette season. As we prepare for the year ahead, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as your newly elected President and share my vision for our association.
My name is Megan Segee, I am honoured to serve our athletes, families, coaches, officials, and volunteers and I am committed to leading with honesty, transparency, and integrity while always keeping the best interests of our members at the heart of every decision.
I believe that strong organizations are built on open communication, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence. Together, we will continue to foster a positive, inclusive environment where athletes of all ages and abilities feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to develop both on and off the ice. Above all, our goal is to ensure every player enjoys their ringette experience and remains connected to the sport we all love.
Before looking ahead, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to James Van Lierop and Kim Jackson for their years of dedicated service as President and Vice President of Barrie Ringette. Their leadership, commitment, and countless hours of volunteer service have helped shape our association and provide opportunities for so many athletes and families. On behalf of our entire community, thank you for your passion, dedication, and lasting contributions.
I am proud to be joined by a dedicated leadership team, including Vice President Tracy Tetreault, Julie McNeely-Heath as Ice Scheduler and Acting Referee-in-Chief, Monique Dionne as Director of Operations, and Ashley Varcoe as Treasurer. Together, we are committed to strengthening Barrie Ringette and building a sustainable future for our association.
As we look ahead, we are also seeking enthusiastic volunteers to fill several Director-at-Large positions and committee roles. Whether you can contribute a few hours of your time or are interested in taking on a larger leadership role, your skills, experience, and ideas can make a meaningful impact. Barrie Ringette is powered by volunteers, and every contribution helps create opportunities for our athletes to succeed.
I encourage anyone interested in helping shape the future of our association to reach out. By working together, we can continue to grow Barrie Ringette, support our athletes, and build a strong, vibrant community for years to come. I look forward to serving alongside all of you and making this an exciting and successful season.
Thank you for your continued support, trust, and commitment to Barrie Ringette. Together, we will continue to create a positive, inclusive, and rewarding experience for every member of our association.
I wish all of our athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families a safe, successful, and enjoyable season. I look forward to seeing you at the rink.
Warm regards,
Megan Segee
President
